This is a superb there-and-back trail to the Glacier Rock Lookout in the Barron Gorge National Park close to Cairns. The trail is moderate with some stair passages, little trails with a few roots and rocks and a steeper uphill section. The hike is a lovely combination of walking under the thick vegetation of the forest, passing the tranquil Stoney Creek and open vistas on the plains, the sea and the distantly rising ranges. The views at the top are really worth the effort!
The Djabugandji Bama people are the traditional owners of the area known as Djirri Nyundu Nyrrumba, which includes Barron Gorge National Park.
