A wonderful there-and-back hike from Karamatura to Mount Donald McLean near Huia in the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park. The hike begins near the Karamatura Campground. The terrain is steep and has many stairs. The trail offers beautiful open vistas on the Hinge Bay and Manukau Heads in the distance as well as extraordinary interior landscapes in a lush tropical forest and a great waterfall.
