Right by Phoenix, this is a lovely there-and-back hike to Piestewa Peak in Phoenix Mountain Preserve, Arizona. This trail is on the more challenging side of moderate, but short and well-maintained, following a steep uphill gradient. The views over the Sonoran desert and the city are lovely throughout the hike. The trail is particularly popular at sundown as it offers incredible sunsets with magnetic colors.
