Discover this incredible loop around Kings Canyon Rim in the Watarrka National Park in the Northern Territories, a few hours away from Alice Springs. The trail is well maintained and moderate, with a bit of a steep climb in the first section; the rest of the hike is fairly flat.
The route passes through Creek Walks and the Cotterills Lookout, offering splendid view points. The red rock formations are unique and very impressive as they undulate and create a magnetic atmosphere throughout the walk. The views at the top are fantastic at sunrise; starting early is often best as it allows hikers to avoid the strong midday sun (there is no shade at the top).
