Puy de Dôme and Puy Pariou

Length

Located in the Chaîne des Puys, about fifteen kilometers from Clermont-Ferrand, this 11,000-year-old volcano is accessible by several routes.

We prefer the Muleteers trail, starting from the Col de Ceyssat, which leads to the top of the Puy de Dôme (1,465 meters) and then continues via the Puy Pariou (1,209 meters). The return then takes place in the forest between two smaller volcanoes, the Grand and the Petit Suchet.

Great hike. The 5 hours is a slow pace. Last bit of Puy Pariou is closed due to soil erosion.

Attention à bien garder les yeux sur le portable! Le tracé ne suis pas tout le temps les chemins balisés et vous aurez des surprises…. Comme nous….
