A beautiful there-and-back trail in the picturesque mountains close to the small town of Wanaka. The steep climb offers several spectacular panoramas on Lake Wanaka, Mount Aspiring and the mountains around. The landscapes vary between fields, prairies and mountains and offer great possibilities for bird spotting. The ascent can also be undertaken in the dark to enjoy the magnificent sunrise at the top of Roys Peak.
