This is a difficult there-and-back hike to arrive at the Gertrude Saddle Route in the Fiordland National Park. The trail begins at the Gertrude Saddle car park and rapidly becomes steep. There are a few ropes to climb up and the smooth rock can be slippery. The summit greets walkers with the most epic views on the valley and lakes around.
This hike is in an avalanche prone zone and needs to be attempted only in the best meteorological conditions.
