This is a great there-and-back trail first following the Lumpy Ridge Trail and then along the Gem Lake Trail all the way to the lake. The trail is moderate and follows a very manageable low gradient uphill. The views are lovely particularly over the Twin Owls, an interesting geological formation, which is also a popular rock climbing spot. The trail can get busy when the weather is good.
