One of the great perks of Hika Premium is the ability to download a trail for offline use. This allows you to locate yourself on the map even when you have no network, and to save battery life.
Here's everything you need to know to use this feature like a pro.
1. Open the Hika app
2. Open the trail you want to download
3. Scroll the trail screen down to the "Offline" section
4. Press the "Save trail offline" toggle switch
5. The progress bar at the top of the screen will confirm the progress of the download
6. By default, only the "Hika" map layer is downloaded; if you want to add more, tap on "Offline maps" and choose additional layers
All of your downloaded trails are automatically added to the "My hikes" tab of the app, in a section called "Offline Trails".
Also, if you open the app when you have no signal, offline trails will appear directly on the home screen.
In order to delete a download, you just have to go to the trail in question, and to unselect the "Download the trail" toggle switch.
Due to the cache of our mapping tool, complete deletion of data may take several days.
