This is a beautiful 17 km there-and-back trail starting from the Whakapapa Village in the Tongariro National Park. This hike goes through the magnificent Taranaki Falls on the way before arriving to the Tama Lakes in between the Ruapehu and Ngauruhoe volcanoes. In the forested part of the hike, the native flora is rich and abundant.
