An amazing there-and-back track to Shallow bay via the Kepler Track in the Fiordland National Park. The trail begins at the Rainbow Reach parking and combines a comfortable gravel track with suspended bridges and wooden walkways (a terrain hit combination for kids). The steep passage among the beeches might remind you of a few Lord of the Rings scenes, as it was filmed there. The walk offers a variety of landscapes in the forest, by the river and in open scenery with snowy peaks, visible in the distance on sunny days.
