This is a great there-and-back hike in Aberdeenshire to get to the top of Clachnaben, a hill famed for its granite formation at the top. The trail is moderate and well-maintained, beginning on a low gradient to then become much steeper and ascend the top of the hill, going from woodland to open moors with lovely views along the way. At the top the views over the surrounding areas and on Deeside and Glen Dye are fantastic and make the effort well worth it!
