This is a beautiful loop along the Pentland Ridge passing by Balerno Common, West Kip, East Kip, and Scald Law in the Pentland Hills Regional Park, not far from Edinburgh. The trail is well-maintained and well-marked, following a variety of terrain including narrow footpaths, rocky trails and wider tarmac tracks. The views over the rolling hills with their heaths and moors and the reservoirs are simply wonderful and make for a perfect escape for a day away from the city.
