This is a great and charming woodland loop around Loch an Eilein, which offers picturesque views of the loch and its island castle in Cairngorms National Park. The trail is easy and well-maintained following mostly a wide gravel track. The castle in the middle of the loch was built in the 13th century and adds a touch of history to the natural beauty. There is also abundant wildlife in the forest, which hikers might be lucky to spot.
