This is a great loop up Conic Hill, a classic day trip near Glasgow, which will reward hikers with breathtaking panoramas of Loch Lomond and its surroundings. The trail is moderate, well-maintained and well-marked, but with some steeper sections that can become muddy and slippery in times of rain. From the carpark, hikers will take the left fork at the junction. The hike offers a dramatic landscape contrast: the islands and Conic Hill itself mark the Highland Boundary Fault, dividing the softer, rolling lowlands from the harder, rugged highlands.
