This is a fantastic and challenging hike to the Upper Cable station via the India Venster route in the Table Mountain National Park, near Cape Town. The trail is difficult, extremely steep and requires some serious scrambling and a little rock climbing. People who are afraid of heights shouldn’t undertake this hike. The trail is often narrow and rocky.
The views throughout are fantastic, there are numerous impressive boulders and rock formations, breathtaking views of the ocean and scenic vistas on the surrounding mountains.
If the wind is particularly strong, the cable car to get down won’t be operating and hikers will need to get back down on foot.
