This is an iconic hike in Cape Town to the top of Lion’s Head, directly accessible from the city. The trail is well maintained with a gradual incline and a steeper section towards the impressive rock formation at the summit. The terrain is a combination of a dirt track, a rocky trail and some ladder sections.
The walk offers scenic views all the way through. The panoramic view at the top is simply wonderful from the ocean to the city and the surrounding mountain ranges. The walk is also popular on full moon nights and for sunrise.
