Krom River Trail

Length

7km

Duration

2h30min

Elev gain

340m

This is a fantastic there-and-back hike to a beautiful waterfall following the Krom River in the Limietberg Nature Reserve near Paarl. The trail is moderate, following narrow paths, scattered with rocks and roots. Hikers will have to scramble a bit amidst the rock to get through in certain passages but the hike is still very doable. The river snakes down in a creek and the rocky mountains around beautifully frame the landscape. At the end the waterfall lands into a large rock pool that is perfect for a swim before turning back.

Note that Cape Nature Permits are necessary on this trail.
