This is a great there-and-back hike up the Hottentots-Holland Mountains to Paradyskloof Waterfall, an hour away from Cape Town. The route is moderate, following a wide track and some smaller footpaths. It offers superb views of the mountains around and the flora and fauna are a big highlight of the hike. There are many animals that hikers might get a chance to spot including baboons, leopards and caracals. To see the falls in their full beauty, it is best not to go in summer when the water dries out.
