Departing from Splügen, this route takes place in the pretty Rheinwald valley. The trail climbs to the plateau of the two Suretta lakes, one of which is located at 2,193 meters above sea level and the other at 2,266 meters. Once you have enjoyed the lakes, you have to go down via Via Spluga, a historic path that has linked southern Germany to Lombardy since the Middle Ages.
