This is a great loop passing by Kinder Scout and Kinder Downfall in the Peak District National Park, just under an hour from Manchester. The route begins slightly uphill and after two kilometres becomes steeper to reach a plateau at the top marked by a cairn and finally more moderately come back down. The terrain combines grassy and dirt trails with stoned footpaths. The views at the top are breathtaking as the summit culminates at 636 metres. The route also passes rivers and waterfalls. The trail carries some historical significance as it was used to highlight the lack of public access to open country in 1932, which resulted in the creation of the National Trust.
