The Roberts there-and-back trail to see the impressive Franz Josef Glacier from up close is a beautiful walk starting near the Waiho River in the Westland Tai Poutini National Park. The hike offers a varied terrain with some steep and difficult passages but the views along the river and on the mountain sides are worth it. Peter's Pool is also a spectacular sight on the way.
