Summer is the perfect time to disconnect, leave your daily life behind and recharge your batteries in good company. And frankly, to this end, what is better than going for a walk in the middle of nature?
Mountains, sea, valleys, pines, rivers, waterfalls... We have concocted a list of destinations with landscapes as extraordinary as they are varied, to inspire you to get out this summer.
Valais is a Swiss canton bordering Haute-Savoie, and which has the privilege of sheltering world famous landscapes. The Matterhorn is one of them: its steep walls and its recognizable triangular shape even inspired the Toblerone logo. Other attractions of the region are glaciers, efficient public transport that allows you to hike as close as possible to the summits even with the family, and many restaurants at altitude, to combine effort with pleasure.
Off the Var, the island of Port-Cros is the wildest of the Hyères islands. A ferry trip allows you to reach it and spend a wonderful day of hiking, surrounded by rich flora and fauna. Trails crisscross the entire coast, alternating between cliffs and coves where swimming is possible. Certainly one of our favorite spots on the Côte d'Azur.

Gentle slopes, numerous lakes, pine forests alternating with flowery meadows... Here are the characteristic landscapes of the Vosges, an ideal massif for nature lovers. The Four Lakes hike is particularly enjoyable, offering varied terrain and vistas stretching as far as the Black Forest.

Less than two hours from Nice, the Mercantour is known to be one of the wildest national parks in France. Its geographical position gives it landscapes that are sometimes alpine, sometimes Mediterranean. Naturally, this has made it a magnet for hikers for years, particularly in the Vallée des Merveilles and Lac d'Allos. We also appreciate the lake of Trécolpas, which offers a nice overview of the region.

For a long time, Brittany has been a refuge for hikers fleeing the heat of summer. But having recorded a temperature of 39 degrees, Brest recently (and sadly) broke its heat record. This does not detract from the appeal of Finistère, where the Crozon peninsula and the Pointe du Raz offer exceptional coastal paths, sometimes overlooking the sea by 70 meters.

The crowd, very little for you? Let's head to the Ardennes. With a charming hilly relief, dug by the meanders of the Meuse, the Sambre, and a multitude of rivers, this massif offers an ideal playground for family hiking, in the heart of Europe. Whether on the French or Belgian side, many paths allow you to walk in the shade of the trees and as close as possible to the water.

The waterfall of Gavarnie, of the pont d'Espagne, of the Lac d'Ôo... The beauty contest between waterfalls is fierce in the Pyrenees! But the cascade of Ars is doing very well. Consisting of a first fall of 100 meters high, then several small jumps, thus totaling a height of 246 meters, it carves out a place of choice among the most beautiful spots in the Pyrenees.
