Top 10 family friendly trails in Corsica

Hiking in Corsica is not only synonymous with GR20 or Mare a Mare. Far from these demanding and sporty trails, the Isle of Beauty offers numerous walks suitable for the whole family.

We selected 10 easy routes located throughout Corsica, to help you discover the magic of the island between the green of the mountains and the azure blue of the Mediterranean Sea.



Punta di Rondinara

Start your exploration with the gentle punta di Rondinara, an easy stroll offering panoramic views of the eponymous beach, frequently cited among the most beautiful in Corsica. The turquoise waters blend harmoniously with the fine sand, creating a perfect scene for a family getaway.


Fautea

Starting from the beautiful beach of Fautea, this path joins a Genoese tower for a pretty panorama, then the beach of Lavu Santu, before crossing typically Mediterranean vegetation.


The Bruzzi Trail

Within the Bouches de Bonifacio nature reserve, this pretty coastal path allows for swimming breaks if the weather permits.


The tip of Parata

Located near Ajaccio, the tip of Parata offers spectacular coastal panoramas. The views of the Sanguinaires Islands and the Gulf of Ajaccio create an ideal setting for the sunset.


The Coscione plateau from Bucchinera

Far from the sea, this hike takes place in the Corsica regional natural park and allows you to discover the Coscione plateau. It is located at an altitude of 1,500 meters on the highlands of Alta Rocca, a vast area covered with grassy areas and home to numerous sheepfolds.


The castle of Piana

Don't look for a real castle. This route takes its name from the numerous rocks nearby, one of which is shaped like a fortified castle! This short round trip offers a nice viewpoint over the Gulf of Porto.


The Fango Valley

A sanctuary of biodiversity, the Fango valley will delight nature lovers. The winding paths guide you through preserved landscapes where flora and fauna flourish. The trail is also lined with numerous natural pools, ideal for swimming.


Diane’s Pond

This walk takes the Mare è Stagnu path to the mouth of the Etang de Diane, renowned for its oyster and mussel production. It offers marsh landscapes, between sea and pond.


The Struccia waterfall

This is a walk to a pretty waterfall about ten meters high, which flows into a natural swimming pool suitable for swimming. All this, in a very pleasant forest setting.


Santa-Maria-della-Chiapella

Finally, we end this selection with an itinerary located at the end of Cap Corse. This walk on the customs officers' path reaches the Genoese tower of Santa-Maria-della-Chiapella, in the heart of preserved natural landscapes.
